Playformance
When my son was little he was active, seriously active, and we needed a place for him to get his PLAY ON. That’s how I met owners Anna & Kevin. They hired me to refresh the branding, collateral, promotional materials, merch and website. They provide our community a place for kids to grow, from toddlers in family play all the way to teenage summer camp coaches.

We wanted to have a bold logo, something utilitarian in nature for the main branding. Then working with saturated color palette, stacking text blocks, modular headlines, all of which mimic the blocks and mats the kids utilize at PLAYFORMANCE.
There was no plan to have a “mascot” for PLAYFORMANCE, a few grew organically out of an early promotion for family play. We realized we have all sorts of kids, and the majority of child avatars are a bit too on the nose. So we came up with a our unicorn and dinosaur. Charming, yet mischevious these two have become very popular and show up in numerous promotions for our younger kids. We, inevitably, had to add some younger ones - our yeti and trike were born in 2023.
Parkour is huge at PLAYFORMANCE, it started as a small class, in a few short years became a major part of their programming. The style of the promotions, merch etc. definitely looks to an older demographic (teens), dabbles in “trends” while keeping the same voice as the overall brand
Summer Camp is huge at PLAYFORMANCE, we do a new campaign each year. The designs work their way into posters, merch, shirts, giveaways, stickers and more. It’s a ton of work but well worth it to see it all come together for the kids.
