Lineweaver Elementary

Brand Identity / Print Collateral / Promotions / Merch

We were fortunate to have found the greatest elementary school experience for our son. Not only did the school serve him wonderfully for 5 years but they allowed me the opportunity to redesign their visual materials to better match the caliber of programs and services they offered. They had me at: “Can you design logos for our gardening and ukelele clubs?”

Yes, I am one of those dads. Our son told people in the front office that I “made art” and word got around to the PTA. Initially I was asked to make a shirt with the existing logo. There wasn’t any vector version of the logo and I was convinced I could make a better version.

After the success of the initial design, I proceeded to build out the rest of the brand, sports team logos, business collateral, banners, merch, and I was particularly excited to make secondary branding for all the clubs / programs that school offered.

The previous logo had a great overall shape but was far too pointy, coupled with the blackletter type made it resemble a German Beer.

The Lion was reworked to be more flowy, have a wider snoot which gives a feeling of strength and “pride” (pun intended).

The addition of slab type adds to the overall “academic / sports” vibe we were after.
