Bashful Bandit Barbecue
In Tucson, the once infamous biker hangout was a very rough dive bar, where drinks were cheap, and fights - inevitable. To the bikers, it was a home away from home. To us normies, is was where folks dared you to go. Toby Kyte had a vision of turning it into a BBQ joint in the spirit of places in Austin, TX. While keeping the building (which was in rough shape), the name, adding a patio, and making the best barbecue in town.

Initially we were looking at shortening the name to just “The Bandit Barbecue.” After some initial passes we went back to include “bashful” because of it’s lasting name recognition.
Once the logotype and various lockups felt cohesive, the mascot needed to be addressed.
We wanted to refresh the original Bashful Bandit mascot in a way that honored elements of his playful roots, but also updated him with classic Americana restaurant character icon vibes.
